Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
We at Change Hypnosis, Mumbai have been using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practically in every session of our counseling and psychotherapy. NLP and Hypnosis are used simultaneously in all our counseling and Psychotherapy sessions. NLP assists us to produce a result with ease, keeping in mind client’s comfort. NLP helps us to handle the client’s painful emotions and memories with sensitivity and care.
The word Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be broken down to three distinct words.
Neuro: Neuro refers to the brain and neural network that feed into the brain. Neurons or nerve cells are the working units used by the nervous system to send, receive, and store signals that add up to information.
Linguistic: Linguistics refers to the content, both verbal and non-verbal. That moves across and through these pathways.
Programming: Programming is the way the content or signal is manipulated to convert it into useful information. The brain may direct the signal, sequence it, or change it, based on our prior experience/s, or connect it, to some other experiences we have stored in our brain, to convert it into thinking patterns and behaviors that are the essence of our experience of life.
In short, NLP explores the relationship between how we think (neuro), how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally (linguistic) and our patterns of behavior and emotion (programs & conditioning).
Neuro Linguistic Programming is a model from cognitive and behavioral psychology, which was created in 1975 by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who began modeling and duplicating the “magical results” of a few top communicators and therapists. Some of the leading successful communicators they studied were hypnotherapist Milton Erickson, gestalt therapist Fritz Perls and family therapists Virginia Satir.
With NLP, we can make ourselves feel and act in a different way. NLP is a process, we can use to transform depression to happiness and fear to excitement. NLP gives us the tools to change those steps and guidelines to accomplish our goals. NLP has a set of therapeutic techniques which we can use to change ourselves and those psychological problems.
During a NLP session, we gather information about your goals and what your current situation is. By applying certain proven NLP principles to your thinking process, you can begin to open your mind more fully and engage your inner resources towards getting what you want.
NLP can be used practically everywhere, where human communication skills can enhance results — in counseling, psychotherapy, relationships, parenting, nursing, public speaking, sports performance, business, consultation, management, negotiations, education, and many other areas.
