Lawrence V. Fernandes
For over 24 years, Lawrence has been using his practice of Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help people build better lives and create meaning. He blends empathy, a patient ear, and a mature life outlook with his behavioral psychology expertise to help clients work towards lasting change.
In his practice, he observed unique human survival patterns that probably went unnoticed in psychology. He has revealed those observations in his two books, “Stop Surviving Start Living With Freedom” and “The Self Decoded.”
“My job is to help my clients solve issues at the unconscious level so that they can discover their solutions,” he says.
In 1995, Lawrence began his professional career, first using Hypnosis as his area of expertise. He is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, endorsed and accepted by the American Hypnosis Association.
After training with Dr. Richard Bandler, the creator of NLP, Lawrence started applying NLP theory and tools in his practice in 1998.
Lawrence has specialized in the Ericksonian Therapeutic Model of Hypnotherapy from ‘The British Hypnosis Research and Training School’ – where change is subtle but prominent. Since then, he has helped numerous people, working intensively with them. Usually, a significant change in client’s lives is seen after just a few sessions.
Lawrence has continually enriched his knowledge base and has been trained on self-development, personal change, and healing. He effectively uses tools like Silva Mind Control, Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt, Human Labs, Reiki, Pranic Healing, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), etc.
Lawrence believes his area of expertise, experience, and sharp instinct has helped him fine-tune his ability to recognize such underlying patterns. The next step is to help people change these self-patterns using appropriate tools – Hypnosis and NLP.
“Watching people change, heal and move ahead of their problems is such joy,” Lawrence says. He has worked extensively with adults and children from the age of 7-years to 77-years old. “Children, students, teenagers, people with family issues, managers, teachers and doctors…” he says, listing his experience.
He has helped people overcome and learn techniques to deal with depression, panic attacks, anxiety, stress-related issues, suicidal issues, anger, rage, fears, phobias, relationship issues, etc. Psycho-somatic symptoms have also been sorted, such as headaches, migraines, allergies, and other pains and aches.
Lawrence also actively seeks feedback from his clients and incorporates this information to enhance his work experience.
Lawrence believes in sharing his knowledge. He has been a visiting Professor at ICFAI Business School (IBS), Mumbai, for the past 10 years. He is part of the visiting faculty at different Management Institutes in Pune such as Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application (SIMCA Pune), MERC Institute of Management, Pune, and Sinhgad School of Business Studies, Pune.
Recognizing the fact that problems can be a stumbling block for all sections of society, Lawrence has done honorary work for over five years at different Schools and Institutes in and around Mumbai. He has worked with children from underprivileged and economically backward backgrounds. He has taught them memory skills, better learning habits, personality development, public speaking, etc.
“When I help them build their self-image, you can see the difference in their expectations of themselves. Even the way they stand changes. This is the most satisfying part of my work,” he says.
